Getting Tiana to sleep is easy if you have her Winnie the Pooh doll and her Winnie the Pooh blanket. Otherwise, it is damn near impossible. If you tell her that her Pooh bear and Pooh blanket are somewhere else, she'll usually start crying immediately.
Last night, Pooh bear was at Daddy's house.
When it started getting really late, I realized that Tiana would be spending the night and that I would have to figure out a way to get her to fall asleep without her Pooh bear and Pooh blanket.
I told her that I didn't have her Pooh bear or her Pooh blanket, but that I had something better. I had Tigger, who was Pooh's best friend! I also gave her a little pillow that Emily usually keeps on her bed and told her that it was Emily's special pillow. Whatever that means.
She bought it hook, line, and sinker. When we cuddled up to go to bed, she asked if she could rest her head on my belly. She was sound asleep in less than five minutes.
Oh yeah, and so was I.
