Hurray! Here it Comes!

My friends at LCV gave me a Good Luck cake

Today is my last day of work with the League of Conservation Voters. I'm really sorry to be leaving such a wonderful organization, but I'm really excited to be Leavin' on a JET plane in less than 72 hours.

I'm pretty much ready to go; I just need to tie up a few strings here and there and put a few more belongings into boxes. There's really not much more for me to do.

I finally decided that I'm going to sell my car to CarMax. They offered me $12,000 for my 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid with only 47,000 miles on it, which is several thousand less than I hoped to sell it for, but I'm going to do it anyways because I don't want to have to worry about somebody else selling my car while I'm literally on the other side of the globe. At least I'll get a refund check when I cancel my insurance. I think I'll get about 4 months worth back.

I'm having dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse with Mom and Alex tonight as a sort of goodbye dinner. I've never eaten there, so the only thing that I expect are exorborant prices for charred cow flesh. I'm sure it will be amazing.

I've already said goodbye to my stepfather. He's in Costa Rica right now, but I saw him last Friday. It went something like this: "Um, yeah whatever, have a safe trip or something, ok?"

The big dilemna I've having right now is whether or not to buy that $500 Canon S2 camera that I've been salivated over for the last few months. If I was getting a little more money for my car I wouldn't be in this predicament and I'd just go ahead and buy it. I'm so torn right now. Do I want the 48x zoom with steady shot and 5.0 megapixels OR do I want to eat for a month?

I'll probably end up buying the camera.

Other than that I'm not really ready to throw all of my stuff into my SNAZZY new suitcases yet. 72 hours, actually more like 65 hours, separates the NOW from my flight, but what if I need something that I packed between now and then? Huh? Maybe I'll pack tomorrow. I don't have anything planned for those two days (EXCEPT for LOST on Wednesday night at 9 PM).

Goodbye Winter Park and Goodbye America
