Kanazawa: the Friendliest People in the World

After spending the afternoon in Kanazawa, Emily and I put the family on the train back to Takaoka and then walked through the Samurai district and went shopping. For some reason people (the Japanese variety) kept trying to strike up conversations with us.

Here are a few snippets:

Conversation #1:

Guy on Street: Hey!
Angelo: What's up?
Guy on Street: Good!

Conversation #2:

Old Man: Where you from?
Angelo: Orlando.
Old Man: Or-LAND? (emphasis mine)

Click HERE if you do not know why I find this annoying.

Conversation #3:

Girl on train: What are you doing in Japan? Are you traveling?
Angelo (pointing at Emily): Iie, Eego no sensei desu. (I thought this meant, "no, she is an english teacher.)
Girl on train: She is a movie star?

Haha, that's cute.
She probably heard, "eiga" - which means 'movie' - instead of "eigo".
