CNMI Recycles Day

So the Beautify CNMI! website has attracted the attention of a troll. He kept flaming me, so I kept leaving him "thank you for your comments" comments. He takes issue with my attempt to showcase the CNMI in a positive light. He feels that by doing so that I am somehow "lying" to the world. He's commented on this blog, too. I'm not going to flame him, but feel free to fan the fires.

Idiot.

So I attended an underwater wedding today. I'll post pictures later...maybe.

Cool.

So I am going to share Master of Ceremony duties at CNMI Reycles Day this Saturday. Reina Camacho, my brother's god sister and my good buddy at DEQ, is my co-host. I'm happy to do it, but I always get so nervous before speaking in public. I'm already stressing out over it. Seriously. Alex and Mom can attest to the fact that I get nauseau in these situations...a lot.

But I'm going to do it. Once I get on stage I always end up being fine. I just won't eat or drink anything for four hours before the event.

Bummer.

So, speaking of going onstage, Wednesday night was Elimination Week 2 of Saipan Singing Superstar. I think I'm going to be on TV or something.

Not being fully truthful again, eh?

Let's set the record straight.

What I was responding to with
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism">substantive criticism

is
href="http://jetapplicant.blogspot.com/2006/05/lets-do-something-about-saipan-sucks.html">your
proposed, manipulative propoganda campaign
(also reported in
Saipan's local papers), your specifically articulated agenda, of
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_bombing">Google Bombing

the Internet with anchor text to attempt to remove the site
href="http://www.saipansucks.com">Saipan Sucks
from its high page
rankings.

In my posts I took both a critical and accepting stance toward
href="http://www.saipansucks.com">Saipan Sucks
. I stated that the
site is harsh, one-sided, and bitter in tone, but also that there are
scant few people, local or not, who would not admit that the site
contains more than few grains of truth.

I stated that the honest way to deal with
href="http://www.saipansucks.com">Saipan Sucks
is to deal
radically and with integrity about the valid points the site is
criticising about CNMI society. I stated that your "bandaid" approach,
very common in the CNMI, would only further prove the website author's
points. I stated of the website author that a person's worst enemy
often turns out to be their best friend, if one responds aright.

At the same time, I specifically commended you and your organization
for its other efforts.

But you were apparently very unacustomed to being questioned. So you
chose to respond to my substantive comments with
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominen">ad hominen
attacks
against me as a person. Your attacks included quite prolific
href="http://teenadvice.about.com/library/weekly/aa101600c.htm">name-calling
,
which you have continued to do here by again dubbing me a "troll" and
now adding "idiot" to the line up.

You also tried the issue-avoiding tactic of reporting to your readers
my location by publicly revealing the city location of the I.P. I had
been posting from, which I informed you was false because I used
proxies because I am actually in a location where the government
suppresses free Internet usage.

And you apparently did not see fit for the record of this all to be
publicly viewable for very long. You have now deleted the article and
discussion from the Beautify CNMI! blog.

As I stated before, if you cannot handle substantive criticism of your
activities, do not post them in a worldwide forum. Otherwise, be
prepared to defend them with methods befitting the mature adults that
we are.

If you contest this summary as inaccurate, you may prove your case to
your readers very easily by restoring the article and discussion from
the Beautify CNMI! blog that you deleted.

Thank you for your comments. Why do you hate the CNMI?

Why do you keep making these adolescent-like comments?

If I hated the CNMI, I'd just keep quiet about this misguided idea of yours, and sit back and watch you provide fodder for Betz's next "update".

Although it may not seem like it right now, I actually like and respect you.

If you want to think about things maturely, what I am actually doing is suggesting you re-think your strategy in this particular matter, so that people who really do hate the CNMI have their core reasons for hating it removed.

Isn't that what you really want? Don't you think that is the mature way to deal with these sorts of things?

Alright West Palm, I'll give you an honest answer. I've just been flaming you for the last few days for the fun of it.

We're already working on a lot of the suggestions you are making. Since June 19 (2 days over 5 months) I have helped Beautify CNMI plant over 1700 trees; recycle over 260,000 lbs of recylable material; have almost weekly cleanups of beaches and roads, our biggest cleanup on 10/20 attracting over 3,380 volunteers; sign an MOA with Balli Steel to remove junk cars and goods at no cost to the government; clean up and restored tourist areas, both historical and natural; all while including segments of our community that don't always get to "hang out" together.

How much more do I have to do before I am allowed to promote the good things about the CNMI? Why shouldn't I start right away? Why are you against this?

Your attitude really pisses me off. My activities over the last five months give me way more credibility than a anonymous blog comment from West Palm Beach.

Please continue to make to make comments on this and any other blog, but please, give me some well deserved and hard earned credit.

Dominican Republic, as you can see.

BTW, I have lived in the CNMI for my years than you have - not that that should really matter, though.

Did I not commend you for the activites you cited? Did I not limit my comments to only your propaganda campaign of Google Bombing and link anchoring, which I maintain will actually damage the CNMI in the long run?

Of course I did.

Give me some credit for trying to save you from a stupid mistake.
