I don't usually cross post the Beautify CNMI! posts on The Saipan Blog, but we had an exceptionally large cleanup over the weekend, so I'm making an exception. 117 volunteers, including just about every Japanese ex-pat on this island, came out to Obyan Beach on Saturday morning for a cleanup sponsored by JSTA and NMDOA.


The volunteers represented the Japan Saipan Travel Association, Northern Mariana Diving Operators Association, Marianas Visitors Authority, just about every hotel on island, Mariana Islands Nature Alliance, ISA CNMI, Hopwood Junior High School, and Saipan International School.
That's me on the left wearing an inappropriate T-shirt for volunteer work. It's for the children, I swear! The guy in the middle is important Chamorro Dude (si, Perry). The guy on the right is important Japanese Dude. I'm playing the part of Bed Head Dude.





There were so many people at the cleanup that we had to take two group photos (let's see you try to corral over 100 people into a single shot).
