What an amazing night, not just for Barack Obama, but for America. I know that Senator Obama is so much more than simply the color of his skin, but all of us must acknowledge -- and celebrate -- the fact that one of the whitest states in the U.S. just voted for a black man to be our next president. Thank you, Iowa, for this historic moment. Thank you for at least letting us believe that we are better than what we often seem to be. And to have so many young people come out and vote -- and vote for Obama -- this is a proud moment. It all began with the record youth turnout in 2004 -- the ONLY age group that Kerry won -- and they came back out tonight en force. Good on every single one of you!I already voted for Barack in Florida. You should, too.

Yeah, I was shocked by that. If he wins in the deep South, that will really show he can go all the way.
Tsk tsk. You make it sound like an endorsement, and it's not. He likes my guy as much as he likes your guy:

Vote for Edwards!
Do not mess with my propaganda machine!
Yeah, I know Moore isn't endorsing anyone. He wants Gore to get into the race. Probably too late now.
Hey now, remember, Iowa is a NORTHERN state. As someone who grew up in Iowa and had Asian, Hispanic and Black classmates from 1st grade all the way through university, I can tell you Iowans typically do not judge people based on skin color. Actions are what we're taught to look at.
It's true that Iowans are generally pretty mild by national standards...but I wouldn't say conservative. The liberals and conservatives both seem to be a little less extreme in Iowa than in other parts of the country.
I've always said Iowa is like the Shire. Maybe a bit sheltered but generally very accepting people who just like to eat and drink a lot without bothering anyone else.
Do people in Iowa have hairy feet?
I would say Iowa is a CORN state.
