According to Jane Mack, Saipan will be without power on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 AM to 6 PM. I accept no responsibility for this rumor mongering, I'm just repeating what I read on another blog.

Harry Blalock says the rumors are false.

That's totally false information. CUC did get a fuel delivery of 3500 barrels of fuel which will take them through another week. The weekend outages will be only as needed for generator repairs. Shame on Jane Mack for spreading baseless rumors, or listening to disreputable radio stations that spread rumors without fact as well!
So is their power?
So glad Harry is right.
Also, I didn't say that's what would happen--I reported it as a rumor (what I'd heard).
Sometimes the grapevine is right, sometimes wrong. But it's usually interesting.
so what is going to happen when the 3500 barrels run out?
My understanding is that there is a power struggle between CUC and the governor. CUC wants payment, but the governor says there is no money.
I'm not saying that's how it is, that's just the way it looks to me after reading the newspapers, blogs, etc.
We are all coming over to your house, Ed when the 3500 barrels are depleted, so we can sit around your burning coconut tree and read our MP.
