If the liberal media is to be believed, after the new Immigration law in Arizona takes effect in 90 days, authorities in Arizona can demand to see the papers of anyone who looks Mexican. That has me kind of worried.
You see, I look Mexican. I am actually Irish-Chamorro American, but that combination looks Mexican. Really. I don't want to be singled out by authorities; that would be a violation of my right to privacy. And seeing as I have posted to a blog two times per day for the last 6 years, you can see that I am someone deeply concerned with privacy.
Facebook activists (read: slacktivists) are doing something about this injustice and are...wait for it...wait for it...joining the Boycott Arizona Facebook Page.
Others are taking a more serious approach and are actually organizing boycotts. More power to them.
I have an even better idea for teaching the Arizona legislature and governor that they can't discriminate: let's take all the Arizona quarters out of circulation...by sending them to me. I will donate them to an immigrant (read: me).
Quarters can be mailed to:
Angelo O'Connor Villagomez
God Bless America and Boycott Arizona Quarters for Freedom and Equality Coalition
PMB 360 BOX 10001
Saipan, MP 96950
USA
But seriously, this new law doesn't make me want to go to Arizona.

That's two posts in a row that contain the word Arizona!
My kids are reconsidering going to school there. They probably wouldn't get stopped with their blue eyes and fair hair, but can't see living in (or spending money in) a state that behaves so badly.
Don't go to Arizona. Please, stay wherever you are. People's garages and homes are being broken into. Phoenix has the highest rate of kidnappings in the US, second in the world. Kate, your kids' teachers will be so busy trying to communicate with kids who are only there for months at a time, that they won't have time for yours.
Angelo, if you are a citizen or otherwise authorized by the US government to be within our borders, then fine. If you get questioned, why not proudly proclaim your residency or nationality? Bella has European accent, because she lived there as a kid, and she could be questioned just as easily as you. It's about being here legally or not, no matter who you are or what you look like, and we think all of you are smart enough to grasp that.
Somebody who would make a statement like that has never felt what it is like to be a minority.
Brown people aren't going to get questioned once; this law is going to ensure that they get harassed every day of their lives.
It is interesting that although we are citizens of the same country, we are so far apart. The CNMI wants to delay the federal enforcement of immigration laws. Where I live, I just wish that they would enforce the laws.
I waited almost 8 years to get "my papers". My name is Adrian Romo and I come from Jalisco, Mexico and I came to the United States the legal way. If I was stopped, I would gladly show 'my papers'. I am proud of them. I worked hard for them.
'My brown brothers' who came across the border in the middle of the night are a curse. They cheat all of us who came here the 'right way'. They drive down wages and promote a false economy. What did you last pay for an orange ?? I paid $0.19 a pound. How can anyone earn a livable wage when there are people that will accept pennies for their labor ??
I support this law, but as a resident of California, these people will likely come here. Apparently you support a boycott. Do you think that the 'White racists' work in the hotels and resturants that will be hurt by a boycott ??? Maybe I should suggest that the Arizona government send the 'brown people' that they round up and those that are put out of work by a boycott to Garapan so that they can further depress conditions on Saipan.
Sadly people don't understand that illegal immigration is a serious problem in the southern part of the United States. I am not talking about being overrun by Russian and Japanese tourists, I am talking about people that cause a drain on the economy and commit crimes when they cannot earn a living. If there is any value to a U.S passport, something needs to be done to secure our borders. Something the CNMI government seems reluctant to do.
Speaking of racism, after many visits, I wanted to move to Saipan to live and to expand my business. Sadly, I cannot buy land because I am not a CNMI native, I can only lease. We have the same citizenship, our skin is the same color, but I am excluded by something that I cannot control. While we are citizens, I am an outsider. What a joke.
In one swoop you accuse immigrants of taking all the jobs and then being unemployed. Which one is it?
I think all people from Arizona are a little weird anyway, and I don't trust them.
I think the only papers that people from Arizona should show is that they're spayed or neutered.
The last thing we need is a trailer park army that reproduces.
If you want to stem the rush of illegal immigrants from Mexico, build a wall that's made out of something stronger than corrugated tin and chain link.
...or you could just give Jeff Turbitt a cooler, an umbrella, and a lawn chair and place him out there to scare off any would be boarder runners.
