Well the consulate didn't respond to my email, but since it IS October, I am officially putting the final nail into the "going on JET" coffin. I will NOT be going on JET this year.
I will, however, be leaving for Japan on November 18 at 7:15 AM. It is a Friday flight. I'll arrive in Japan on Saturday afternoon.
Emily is going to meet me in Tokyo and then we are going to head back to Takaoka.
