I know I'm not getting upgraded this year, but people applying for 2006 should find it interesting to know that JET upgrades Alternates well into October.
"So today I am on my lunch break and I check my email. There is a letter telling me that if I am interested the consulate is looking for someone to participate on the JET program this year. It's almost November 1st! I don't know if I will actually go to apan but I just wanted to put this out there for next year’s applicants...apparently there are upgrades even this late."
