I'm finally meeting some of the other JETs (other than Emily, since I am not a JET). They are really nice, friendly people. You would never surmise this from reading some of the threads on Big Daikon.
In the last few days we've been to AEON, gone out for lunch and dinner, played video games, drank beer, and just generally hung out with other English speaking people. It isn't doing much for my Japanese skills, but it is a lot less frustrating than trying to speak with someone who has no idea what I am saying.
Tonight, after Emily gets off from work, we are going to go to a yoga class taught by her loud little friend, Laura. Should be interesting.
In the meantime, she has left a list of chores for me to complete while she is away bringing home the bacon. Looks like I get to spend my day working on my proposal, cleaning, and cooking. Excellent!
