The Big Post is Coming

Splitting headache, body aches, nausea, dizziness, and other less pleasant ailments have afflicted me the last two days. Things I am supposed to be doing (like collecting those things from people for the upcoming you-know-what) haven't been done and I'm only now feeling up to being out of bed.

I got a request this morning from an off-island friend about the trip, so I typed up a quick three pager and emailed it out to the Friends of the Monument and a few others. I'm going to refine that, add pictures, and post it to this blog soon. I've got a few other things to do first, like get the rest of my gear off the boat.

How about some details in the big post, like how much did your party spend on the trip up there? On the boat? On supplies? How many went total? What were the accommodations like on the vessel you rented? Do you think others might be induced to follow your footsteps in what seems to be the first case of actual visitation in the 6 months since the monument was declared? What hoops did you jump through to get permitted? Was the trip sanctioned by any agency or group? Did you have sponsorship? What would you do different next time now that you have learned some lessons? What kind of supplies and gear did you take? etc.

You bring up a very good point. I will write a post titled "planning a trip to the monument" or something along those lines.
