One of the best rackets going at Disney is the oyster and pearl sales in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot. For about $17.95 would-be pearl princesses are allowed to look over a tub full of oysters and pick one out to see what is inside.
The cast members make a realllllly big deal out of it, picking and opening the pearl with as much ceremony as a traditional tea ceremony.
The girl opening the pearls on the day we visited was extremely lively. She was a like a Japanese version of Pattie Coleman after she drinks four beers and wins a soccer game.
And the prize inside is a pearl. They sell all kinds of jewelry to go along with your newfound treasure, but we opted to just be happy with a pearl in a plastic bag.
